Director of Stores

Elaine Turner Designs is a leading designer and retailer of women’s accessible luxury footwear, handbags, jewelry and clothing. The Company exists “to make women feel beautiful inside and out”. We design contemporary, high quality fashion at attainable prices and provide intimate, personal service in stores and online. We also use our stores and brand to raise money for charities that our customers believe in. The Company was founded in 2000 and has 7 company owned locations, and a robust ecommerce platform. Both sales channels will continue to expand along with the expansion of our product categories to create the complete lifestyle for our customers.

 

Position Summary:
The Director of Stores will be a member of the Senior Management team and will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the current 7 stores. The position will also oversee a team of store managers and retail support team, and will be responsible for all store functions for the Company including achieving sales goals, customer service, hiring, recruiting, sales training, clientele management, events and much more. The Regional Store Director works directly with the CEO to create strategies, achieve goals and maintain policies and procedures for the retail division of the company.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the operations of 9 stores and ensures delivery of the highest level of customer service, store functions, appearance and sales
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of the annual budget, financial forecasts and other business goals, and leads unit management to ensure budgeted sales and profit goals are achieved
  • Directs location staff to ensure compliance with applicable company standards, policies, practices and objectives
  • Evaluates operations and seeks opportunities to continuously improve sales and service
  • Develops, maintains, and fosters growth of landlord, brand and marketing partner relationships
  • Authorizes hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other status change of store associates
  • Serves as a resource to others in resolution of complex problems and issues

 

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  • Requires a College degree
  • Requires at least 5 years of store management experience in medium volume, multi-unit Merchandise operations
  • Requires an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Basic Financials and extensive POS system skills
  • Requires excellent time and project management skills, as well as presentation skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product, quality, and operations standards
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner including executive team, partners and a very diverse group of hourly associates
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
  • Requires travel 20-25% of the time, as well as participation in store events on nights and weekends

Required experience:

  • Experience in the fashion retail industry is required: 5 years
