Houston Fashionista Names a Bag

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Today we are pleased to introduce a dear friend of Elaine Turner Designs, Mary Lou Fernandez. Mary Lou generously bid to win the Heroes “name a bag” auction prize in 2009, dubbing her bag “Tabetha”. We got to know Mary Lou personally during 2008 while she was the chair of the Heroes brunch in Houston. Not only is Mary Lou a kind and generous supporter of Heroes, but she is also quite the fashionista!

Mary Lou states, “The handbag is named for my friend Tabetha Lopez. Tabetha is the wife of the 2008 and 2012 US Olympics taekwondo coach, Jean Lopez, and is the sister-in-law of US Olympic taekwondo medalists and world champions, Steven, Mark and Diana Lopez. Tabetha and Jean, as well as Jean's siblings have been very supportive of Heroes for Children, donating their time towards visiting children battling cancer as well as helping to raise awareness and money to support the organization. Tabetha is a key part of the strength behind such a wonderful family! She exhibits class, beauty, inspiration to her extended family of athletes and is a wonderful mother to her and Jean's three children. She represents the style of Elaine Turner!”

Elaine Turner Tabetha Tote
Keeping Mary Lou’s chic style in mind, Elaine designed this limited edition croc canvas tote. Made of Italian milled croc canvas and trimmed in lightweight bronze leather, Tabetha is the perfect arm candy for the lady about town.
